Last week, the Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity was in a bind. The non-profit, which uses volunteer labor to build affordable houses for those in need, has been behind on building its homes in the past several years, owing in large part due to a steady decline in volunteers, says Executive Director Joy McKay.
Kodiak Building Partners announced the acquisition of Fremont, Neb.-based Christensen Lumber. Christensen Lumber, founded in 1923, ranked 69th on the 2018 version of the ProSales 100, operates two locations in Fremont, Neb., and Elkhorn, Neb., and generated $70.8 million in sales in 2017.
