Kodiak Building Partners and Christensen Lumber Company announced Christensen is celebrating its 100th business anniversary. The company was founded as Luehrs-Christensen Coal & Lumber Company in March of 1923 in Fremont, Neb., by Alfred Christensen and Robert Leuhrs. In 1943, Luehrs retired and sold his interests to Mr. Christensen and the company officially became Christensen Lumber & Coal. The company changed names for the final time in 1955 to Christensen Lumber Company when coal was dropped from the company’s product lineup.
“Christensen has experienced phenomenal growth in its 100 years,” Mike Flood, executive vice president of operations for Kodiak Building Partners, said in a prepared statement. “In the advancement of this growth, Christensen will continue to bring superior products and exceptional customer service to local professional builders and contractors.”
